[001] Accidental Audio

[There is a book laying on a near by table that Kushina doesn't see as she rushes toward the window. The first rustle of wind doesn't even jostle the pages, however when she flings the window open, the book flies open with it. There's a moments pause as Kushina takes in the contents of outside, the chill in the air, the foreign feel. The first thing she deems to greet Luceti with is:]

WHERE IS MINATO!? This isn't..!

[But then her angry heart-felt cry stops, the words dying mid-sentence as a wave of emotion tears into her. Whatever anger she felt quickly faded in lieu of grief. A loud bang against the window's frame and the rattle of glass.]

Naruto... Minato...

[It's quiet and sounds as though Kushina is on the verge of tears, if not already crying.]

This isn't the afterlife, I know it. It doesn't feel right. It's too real. I shouldn't be able to feel pain, y'know!

[Kushina slumps to the floor, the sound reverberating softly in the near-empty room. What was she supposed to do here? What was this place, even? It wasn't where she was supposed to be. Nowhere had ever felt more wrong in her life.]

Ah, Kushina-san, that's-

[With her cheeks glowing bright pink, Hinata still isn't looking at her journal. She's feeling too overwhelmed by all this. It still hasn't sink in that she's actually talking to Naruto's mother and now she approves of them dating and kjashdkl. S- So many feelings all at once!

Good thing she doesn't faint too often anymore.]

It's, um- I- I really do not know what to say, but... [Ahh she has to finish what she has to say!] T- Thank you.

[Kushina's eyes don't glaze over or anything as she listens, but she is struck by how brilliant that theory sounds.]

You sound pretty smart, and I don't like the sound of this not being my own body, but it would seem accurate. I technically didn't have one anymore, with the last I remember.

[there's a small pause and a laugh that follows.]

Ah, sorry sorry. You probably didn't need to know that, huh?

By the way, what's your name?

[The vibrant, take-charge-ness fades away into a graceful smile. Grateful, even.]

[He could swear he heard his name called. And by a voice that he made sure was forever engraved into his mind the moment he first heard it, since it was such a short encounter. It had to be seared into his mind. Naruto never wanted to forget it.

That's precisely why he's choking up on his words as he tries to speak them-- yell them. But nothing's coming out, because... that's his mom.]

[He laughs sheepishly a little at the compliment.]

Ah, thanks, but I'm sorry for rambling, it's a defect I have. I think a lot so, when I have the chance to talk a bit about those things I just can't help it. B-But I'm sure it's actually more complicated than those bodies just not being our own, or maybe it's simpler but, what I mean is that it's probably not just a copy or a clone. I mean, everyone who has distinctive marks or scars keeps them, the only things that aren't kept are lethal wounds. Even illnesses are kept, even if they are originally illnesses that only appear in a specific place in their worlds, a mere copy or a clone probably wouldn't be able to replicate that so well.

Eh, sorry, I'm rambling again.

[Allow him to headdesk a bit, this is what happens when people ask complex questions and actually listen to him, or let him talk at least.]

My name's Keiichi, Maebara Keiichi. I'm from a world called Earth, more specifically a country called Japan.

And I probably didn't need to know, but I'm not going to tell you to not tell me something, I don't mind and I don't have the habit or interest of going around repeating what people say. Actually, that bit that you said sounded interesting, as I said, most of the dead people I've met here came from right after their deaths, to the point that it was more confusing for them as they didn't know for sure what had happened to them.

[If Hinata's the girl who's oozing with self-confidence, she won't think of the possibility that she's not making Naruto happy. Then again, this thought doesn't last very long because Hinata knows Naruto. He wears his heart in his sleeve. She'll know if he's not happy, so instead, she smiles and addresses this concern lightly.]

I truly hope so. Just as much as he makes me happy.

[Just as much as he inspires her to be a better ninja, a better person. Just as much as his grin makes her smile.]

[Wow that... that makes her pause and look at the journal in surprise. She knows Naruto is a great kid and it's an honor to be one of his parents, but... wow.]

[No, the voice of someone so precious really isn't easily lost. The moment she hears Naruto, Kushina's heart swells to near-bursting point. That kid earlier, he'd been right. Luceti wasn't punishment. Not with so much having gone on already in such a short time.

Kushina had talked to two of Naruto's friends, and even Jiraiya. But now... now this time was different. This was her son talking.]

Naruto?!

[There hasn't been faster movement and more attention on someone or something in such a long time, as she stares down at the book in her hands. She's so happy she could cry!]

I'm inside somewhere. Where are you? Are you safe?

[redhotmama]

I'm really glad to hear that.

[And she really is. She doesn't care who Naruto dates, as long as he's happy. But since it seems to be such a sweet girl, she's pretty content with that. Kushina's too nice and social to hate anyone her son dates.]

We should hang out sometime and get to know each other, just the two of us. Maybe you can show me around?

[It... It really is her. His mother was in Luceti, and now he could actually talk to her, bond with her, and be with her. Something he never had in his entire life was now somewhere in the village, talking to him through the journals. The idea that this could happen never crossed Naruto's mind, even when his dad showed up at one point.

In that moment of her reply, Naruto nearly loses his words again. But he won't let himself stay silent when he has another chance to talk to his mother. There's no way in hell he's letting this pass him up. Every second counts!]

I'm uh... at my place.

[It was a short and sweet answer because Naruto felt something welling up in his chest. Happiness, energy, excitement. Everything all at once. He's got to see her.]

That doesn't matter! Do you know where you are!? I could come find you, or-- or I could give you directions here or something! I just gotta clean up a bit, but I could do that!!

[Naruto's enthusiasm is so heart warming, that she can't help shedding a tear or two. This was happening. The chance to really know her son. Minato, where are you? You're missing this...

She laughs and wipes at her eyes, smiling so broadly she feels an ache she doesn't care about in her cheeks.]

I woke up in a room, so I bet we're close by enough. Why don't you try giving me those directions?

Of course I have! [...Er. Mostly. Because Naruto's got no interest in them.] I know you'd hunt me down one way or another if I didn't!

Of course! I mean it when I call him one of my dearest friends. We have been through many hardships together, and I have been inspired by how much Naruto-kun has strived and grown over the years. And he has saved all of our lives. In a way, I envy how well he is utilizing his springtime of youth. But I shall always be glad to fight by his side!

Rambling's not a problem. I get told I talk a lot so I can sympathize, but what you're saying is probably a lot more interesting than what I would. These things are really good to know, being new here. Where I come from, it's best to be prepared for everything possible that could happen.

[Kushina would smile at him, but voice can only convey that she is.]

If you say so, but there are more pressing things you should be aware of then. Or at least more important, like the experiment or that the power doesn't just bring dead and alive alike, but also pays no mind to timelines. You could meet your grandmother when she was ten years old here, so be prepared for that.

[Lee's done the unthinkable. He's baffled a motor mouth woman into silence. When they'd talked, their first meeting ever, he'd been so modest with himself. Kushina knew he had friends and that they were important and he was happy, but... though it was vague, hearing of his greatness stunned her into silence.

Already, she was grateful to Lee for being one of her son's friends, one of the people he trusted. That Naruto took care of, and made such a boy consider him such a good friend.]

Thank you, Lee-kun. It's wonderful to know that Naruto has a friend like you in his life.
